VAF 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting
May 21-22, 2021
Once again this year, VAF will offer a Virtual Conference, providing members with opportunities to sample and engage with current scholarship in the field of vernacular architecture. We are pleased that this year our offerings will take place over two days so we can add more components from our usual annual conferences. Friday, 21 May will include items usually covered at our opening reception and our banquet while paper and poster sessions are scheduled for Saturday, 22 May. All of this will be presented as Zoom meetings, hosted by Brent Fortenberry and his colleagues at Texas A & M University.

Recent Past Conferences
Each year in May or June, hundreds of VAF members assemble for our annual conference. We spend at least two days touring the area to learn first-hand about its architectural and landscape heritage. On Saturday, a juried paper session provides attendees a forum to share their scholarship and field work. In addition, workshops, board and committee meetings, special events, and excursions create an enjoyable and memorable event. Heavily illustrated and details guide books and other publications from past conferences can be found here.
Past meetings have been held throughout North America.
For first-time paper presenters assistance may be available through Simpson Presenter's Fellowship
For student groups assistance to cover expenses of attending the conference is available through the Ambassadors Award
